1. Congratulations to everyone who attended this weekends tournament. With only 9 players we managed to make our presence known and get noticed at another quality tournament. (I attached two photos from this weekend, it was a pleasure for Coach Dodge and I to be there with all of you).
2. The MIT camp currently has 80 players registered to attend. If you still haven't registered you may try to beg Coach Mercado to let you in. I look forward to seeing you all there in two weeks.
3. The parents/coaches are still planning the fall schedule. Our main focus will be our home tournament/trip to DC and November events. In order to attend the DC trip players must be registered with the team and selected by the coaching staff. Invitations for the trip will be extended in roughly 1-2 weeks. It looks like we will fly into Reagan National Airport on Thursday evening, travel around DC/the White House on Friday, and play in the tournament on Saturday/Sunday.
4. Dues for the month of August will be $100. Some families still owe dues for July and the tournaments. Money must be handed in, in order to participate in the future.
Please email me with any questions,
-Tom

Players/Parents,
I am pleased to announce that Thunderstruck Water Polo Players and Coaches have been invited to tour the White House on Friday 9/28 before playing in the Second Annual Metro Tournament at George Mason University on 9/29 and 9/30. This is only our second year, but big things are happening. Congratulations to everyone who made the first year of water polo in Massachusetts a success.
High School Easterns, Wilton Varsity, and the George Mason Tournaments: will be invite only this year as we are limited to one team entry per event. Criteria for being selected for these travel tournaments will be announced to the players in early August. Part of the decision will be based on practice attendance, attitude, and effort throughout the next few months as our fall season gets under way. Players who attend boarding school and are unable to attend weeknight workouts in Beverly will have the ability to participate this fall on a limited basis.
MIT Camp: Registration for the MIT Camp is very limited, only a handful of spots remain. Please contact Coach Mercado at MIT and sign up asap. I don’t want any of you to be turned away.
Team Dues: July dues should be paid prior to the first practice on July 3rd.
Thanks,
-Tom

Players/Parents,
As the end of school/summer approaches I just wanted to update everyone on a few things:
Spring Session: June 9th will be the last practice date of the 10 week Spring Session. Details on the Summer/Fall Sessions will be distributed soon.
Summer Tournaments:
A. Thunderstruck has entered two teams in the 3rd Annual "Man-Up for Life" Charity Water Polo Tournament. I have entered one team in the high school boys bracket and one in the high school girls bracket. The event will take place Saturday, July 28th at Schlegel Park in Reading, PA. Each team will play three games.
All proceeds from this event get donated to The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society for cancer research. In the first two years of the tournament $25,000 was raised.
Players attending will need to arrange their hotel and travel comidations, be registered as a team member through Coach Gately, and pay the tournament entry fee of $35.00.
I strongly advise players to carpool and room together at the hotel. The hotel rate is 80 per night per room plus 11% tax. The rates are per room, not per person. The hotel will allow 3 kids and one adult per room.
Players interested in attending this tournament are advised to reserve their hotel rooms as soon as possible. Ten rooms (and only ten rooms) are currently being held through our team travel agent Carole Buonopane: (978) 774-4630. Please have your credit card ready when calling.
